A new generation of evangelists is rising up, according to a new study.
A recent Barna research poll found Millennials (ages 18–29) are spending more time sharing their faith with others, rising from 56 percent to 65 percent in 2013. As evangelistic practices in all other generations have declined or remained the same, Millennials “are the only generation for whom evangelism is significantly on the rise,” the report stated. Additionally, nearly two-thirds have presented the Gospel to another person within the past year, compared with the average of 52 percent of other born again Christians.
Millennials have also been noted for their hearts for social justice; feeding the poor, defending the oppressed, caring for orphans and widows. This new report shows that they are just as passionate about sharing the Gospel.
